Abstract
The fourth edition of the Media Art Festival is an initiative promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (Rome) to explore new, increasingly collaborative and increasingly interactive forms of art. What is the relation between natural creativity and artificial intelligence? Artists invite us to discover unexpected relations, to reflect on the potential of media art to comprehend urgent cultural and social issues, and to interpret the complexity of our times. Who are we? Who will we be? What will we become? Using installations, robotic applications, sound art and video art, the artists involve the audience in an original viewpoint of the world, a fascinating journey through knowledge that will transform us and motivate new behaviour. The festival features contributions from over 50 artists from 10 countries, ranging from the USA to Russia. Artists included: Eduardo Kac, Gary Hill, the Vasulkas, Leonardo Petrucci, Donato Piccolo, Pernille Spence, Audint, Antonio Fiorentino, Ra di Martino, Anna Frants, Chiara Passa, Chris Daniels, Joe Duffy, Alex Fanelli, Zoe Irvine, Noise Orchestra, Dodda Maggy, Daniela di Maro, Dehors/Audela, Christian Fogarolli.
