Abstract
These outputs were submitted as part of Don Carney's thesis, examining the socio-cultural environment of the northeast of Scotland, from Aberdeen to Cabrach and from Portsoy to Laurencekirk. The thesis investigates and visualised aspects of the region's cultural identity, representing the historical lifestyles of "ordinary people" circa 1890s-1950s. The project that produced these outputs began in 1987 and, in total, the outputs represent over five hundred and twenty hours of research data. The data includes: five video trailers, the full films for which can be purchased from http://scottishheritage.co.uk/shop/; one full film, one video explaining the contribution made by the research and one containing clips from public outputs made during this research. All video files are in MP4 format and have been condensed into a download zip for ease of use. However, the zip file is very large. If you would prefer to download a single file instead please contact publications@rgu.ac.uk with the file name required, as listed on the accompanying coversheet.
