Biography Dr Auwalu Mohammed is currently a Research Fellow at the National Subsea Centre of the Robert Gordon University. He has broad technical knowledge and experience in Well Engineering, Offshore and Subsea Systems, Materials selection and Design, Finite Element Modelling and Optimisation, Petroleum Engineering, Machine Learning and Big Data processing.
Research Interests My research interests are related to Energy Transition, Carbon Capture Utilisation and storage (CCUS), Hydrogen Storage, Machine Learning and Data Analytics, Digital Twins, Pipe- in- Pipe Systems, Subsea Pipelines and Umbilicals, Structural (Composites) Designs and Optimisation. My expertise and skills are in FEA for structural Integrity, Performance evaluation of thermal foams and elastomers, App designs, Machine Learning, Pipes and flowlines designs and optimisation.
Previously a Lecturer & Research Project Coordinator in the Department of Petroleum Engineering ATBU-Nigeria, as a Research Assistant RGU/Rubberatkins LTD and further worked in the industry as Drilling and Well Engineer at NPDC, and most recently with Scientific Managing Editor Elsevier LTD. I am Registered Engineer with COREN (Nigeria) and earned a PhD in Engineering which focused on Investigating casing buckling in shale gas wells using FEA and Machine Learning. I am highly experienced in supervising and supporting academic research within the realm of oil, gas and now renewables.
