Biography Sally is a full time PhD student. Since qualifying as an adult nurse in September 1997 Sally has been an employee of NHS Grampian. Her early career includes working in Adult Nursing Specialities (General Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology and Accident and Emergency.) However, her experience predominantly lies within Acute Critical Care and Intensive Care Follow Up, having joined the ICU team in 1999. During her time in the ICU she has also worked as a research and audit nurse, leading and supporting a small team. Currently on sabbatical from NHS Grampian, Sally is being funded through the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Practice to undertake her research into the patient experience of surviving stroke with the support of a tracheostomy. Sally is a registered adult nurse with the NMC, a member of the Scottish Intensive Care Society, British Association of Critical Care Nurses and Global Tracheostomy Collaborative.
