Re-evaluation of approaches to recover non-culturable bacterial isolates from soil and their evaluation as a source of new antibiotics
People Involved
Project Description
Many life-threating bacterial infections are successfully treated using antibiotics, but since the 1990s they have become progressively less effective, a phenomenon known as antibiotic resistance.
This project aims to identify novel bioactive compounds that display an antibacterial effect and so assist in the urgent national and international efforts to tackle antibiotic resistant bacterial pathogens.
