This study aims to find out what draws young men to incel communities. What does the incel social identity mean to them? Why/how do former incels leave their communities? Were their emotional needs met by incel communities? Seven members of digital ex-incel support groups took place in this study. Participants were interviewed about their experiences in incel communities, about their life before, on leaving and changes since and what they got out of it.
