Abstract
This seminar was the third meeting or cross-cultural conversation (CCC) organised by the Interdisciplinary Forum for the Study of Jurisprudence and Value Inquiry in the Non-Western World (JVI), convened by Olufemi Ilesanmi. This particular event, moderated by Linda Harper, included presentations from Wahab Egbewole (University of Ilorin) and Emilios Christodoulidis (University of Glasgow). The topic of the seminar was Wahab Egbewole's lecture of the same title, previously delivered as the 139th Inaugural Lecture at the University of Ilorin on the 28th November 2013. This lecture examined the central and fundamental position of the judex in the political, social and economic balancing of society, with a particular focus on Nigeria.
