Over recent years a number of musicians and song writers have been locking horns in court over claims of joint authorship in copyright works. The latest of those battles brought together Matthew Fisher, the former organist in the 1960s pop group Procol Harum, and Gary Brooker and Keith Reid, the acknowledged writers of 'A Whiter Shade of Pale', arguably one of the great anthems.
