Abstract

Hurricane Lamb is a collaborative project from Gray’s School of Art (RGU) and Peacock Visual Arts. Inspired by Duff House and its history, the exhibition features new work by Michael Agnew, Andrew Cranston, David McCracken, Georgia Russell, Lennox Dunbar, Paul Housley, and Donald Urquhart. The artists and writers within this group were selected because of their connection to books, texts, apocrypha, description and illusion. These individuals share common goals - to tell stories and build new narratives around the real and the fantastic, trying to excite the imagination in terms of pictorial language and critical thought. They are a collective of practitioners celebrating extremes, and asking the viewer to participate and form opinions regarding the exhibited works. The file accompanying this record is the foreword from the exhibition catalogue (ISBN 9781907349034), edited by Michael Agnew.
