Tonna, Antonella

Authors

Abstract

This presentation provides background on the (ab)use of antimicrobials and the problem of antimicrobial resistance. It further predicts the consequences of wide-spread antimicrobial resistance on the world's health systems and economies, and demonstrates how unchecked antimicrobial usage will negatively impact many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Finally, the presentation suggests the role that pharmacists and the pharmaceuticals industry should take in combatting antimicrobial resistance.
