Abstract
A rapidly growing field of research, natural lighting in buildings is also a field of multidisciplinary convergence. Among the various issues underlying it, the interest shown in the user is increasingly demanded or even demanded. In line with this theme, this research explored the representations of office workers about natural light and their workspace. The objective is to identify recommendations emanating from the users themselves and which can be used by architects upstream of the design of a tertiary architecture providing better comfort. This study focused on the representations of users of the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Sociale building in Biskra, a city in south-eastern Algeria where natural light abounds from a harsh sun and a clear, serene sky. The representations of the employees of this building were invested by means of the semantic differential in order to explore aspects related to comfort and particularly relating to natural light. The data collected was examined using multiple correspondence analysis (MCA). The results of the analysis revealed the strong preponderance of the activity variables over those of power and evaluation as well as the weak contribution of the variables relating to light was also revealed.
