Miss Joanna Santos-Petiot
Biography | I am a qualified social worker with over three years practice experience in both children's and adult's services. I practiced for two years as a social worker with Moray Council's Throughcare/Aftercare Team, working with young people transitioning out of the care system and into adulthood. Following this, I practiced for one year in Aberdeenshire's Community Substance Misuse Team. The increasing complexity and ethical challenges I experienced in my work led me with keen interest and curiosity to a career in research and academia. I began working as a research assistant for Robert Gordon University's School of Applied Social Studies in January 2022 and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Applied Social Studies. My area of research focuses on the lived experiences of social workers working with care experienced young people in Scotland. |
