Dr Uche Iloka
Biography | Uche has dual status as a solicitor in England and Wales and a barrister in the Nigerian Supreme Courts. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Lecturer in Law at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. At Greydern Associates, he serves as both a partner and a consultant for legal matters. He was awarded the STAR Outstanding Lecturer Award, a student-driven award based on providing a positive learning experience. He was awarded Lecturer of the Year at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland for the 2018–2019 and 2021–2022 academic years. He holds a doctorate in the fields of international law, global governance, and NGOs. His PhD thesis engaged in an examination of the possibility of a reconceptualisation of international law and the role of NGOs in the process. He also holds an LLM in International Commercial Law and was awarded the Sweet & Maxwell Law Prize as the best law graduate of his LLM programme. Uche also furthered his public international law training at the Hague Academy of International Law, The Netherlands. Having the vast experience of working with highly competitive law firms in the UK and Nigeria, a FTSE 100 company in the UK and as a corporate governance and legal compliance solicitor in the UK charity sector, servicing over 700 charities in the UK, he is well-positioned to meet the highest standards with charisma and dexterity even in the face of the most complex legal uncertainties. He also serves as a trustee for a number of charities in the UK. With a primary interest in global governance, public international law, international commercial law, and charity law, Uche has actively participated in a myriad of professional legal-related activities in The Hague Netherlands, Vienna Austria, Cologne Germany, Aarhus Denmark, Geneva Switzerland, Hong Kong, Lagos Nigeria, Aberdeen Scotland, and London England. Uche has a deep appreciation for theatre, musicals, and poetry. Political debates, critical writing, mentoring, and travel are some of his other interests. |
