Mr Stewart Macdonald
Biography | After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2007, Stewart proceeded to gain vast post graduate experience working in two different Health Boards and completing a comprehensive list of rotational posts. Whilst working full-time within the NHS, Stewart developed his expertise in the acute setting and Respiratory care. A year spent working in the Adult Cystic Fibrosis service gave a great insight into the treatment of patients with chronic illness. An interest in neurological physiotherapy was also developed whilst working within acute stroke care. Stewart has continued to maintain his respiratory skills by undertaking a Hospital at Night physiotherapy service, providing respiratory care for the critically ill patient. Stewart joined the Physiotherapy team at RGU in 2016, following a keen interest in clinical education for Physiotherapy students. Stewart has maintained his interest in Practice Based Learning and continued further studies into Behavioural Change and Public Health. Stewart is the current admissions tutor for the Master of Physiotherapy programme. |

Teaching and Learning | Stewart teaches across both cohorts of the Master of Physiotherapy and MSc in Physiotherapy courses within RGU. Stewart has gained Senior Fellowship status with the Higher Education Academy. Stewart has cross discipline and cross school teaching commitments, with shared teaching, input towards high school access courses and modules within the International College (ICRGU). |
