Biography | Pamela is the Principal lecturer for Marketing and Internationalisation in the School of Health. Pamela began her career in education at RGU as a lecturer in nursing and then as course leader. Her teaching has spanned across undergraduate and post graduate courses focussed on developing education for CPD, remote healthcare education, advanced practice, leadership and quality improvement. Her teaching role now includes Honours and Masters dissertation supervision. Pamela worked in the role of Academic Lead for Enterprise in Health and Social Care supporting the commercial and entrepreneurial activity of nursing and the allied health professions at faculty level. This involved leading on local, national and international business facing activity and managing and developing a variety of projects from enquiry, negotiation, through to project delivery and evaluation. This included negotiating with clients in the public/ private sector, hospitals, Oil, Gas & renewable industry, academic institutions and SME businesses. As a result, Pamela has travelled extensively on behalf of the University in pursuit of partnership and business interests in the Middle East, Australia and Asia. Part of her current role is to advance the international strategy of the School to recruit, support and develop international student cohorts in partnership with our Navitas partner College ICRGU.. As Deputy Director of the Scottish Centre for Evidence-based, Multi-professional Practice: A JBI Centre of Excellence. Pamela is also involved in delivering systematic review training and developing the methodology for mixed-methods reviews. She has published on topics including medication error, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), dementia, chronic low back pain, clinical competencies, skills fade, working with translators, breast-feeding and falls prevention. Pamela has a PhD that focused on the employment experiences of people with COPD and has extensively published and presented research at national and international conferences. Pamela is involved in PhD and MRes supervision. She is a peer-reviewer for several healthcare journals and an honorary examiner for the Faculty of Health Sciences in the University of Adelaide. Pamela has completed several external examiner roles with and has engaged in programme validation work internal and external to the university. |
