Abstract
This study looks at two controversial coastal developments in north-east Scotland. It aims to identify the information was made publicly available and what impact this may have had on public engagement around planning and decision-making processes in each case. The first project is the construction of a gas terminal by the British Gas Council and Total in the 1970's. The second project is Donald Trump's golf resort at Menie.
