Biography | Dr. Nicola Croxton is a Lecturer in Business and Society. |
Research Interests | Dr Croxton's research interests fall broadly in the area of strategic management, with a specific emphasis on the changing relationship between business and society. Her research takes a nonmarket approach and considers how the two central aspects of nonmarket strategy (i.e., corporate social responsibility and corporate political activity) affect how the modern business organization adapts its strategic outlook in a changing business environment. More specifically, her research draws primarily on instrumental stakeholder theory to investigate how firms adapt their nonmarket strategies when exposed to corporate social irresponsibility, analysing its impact on financial and non-financial performance. By doing so, she aims to unravel how stakeholders can influence firms’ nonmarket strategies and potentially sanction them. |
Teaching and Learning | Nicola joined Aberdeen Business School as a Lecturer in Business and Society in June 2021. She is part of the teaching team on various undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programs, including Literature Project, Thesis, Research Methods and Managing for Global Sustainability. Nicola is also involved in supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. |
