Biography Omotara Fagbuyi is a PhD candidate at Robert Gordon University, with over 15 years of varied industry-based expertise as a strategic communication professional and journalist. Tara's current research focus centres on the media and information literacy and strategies for vaccine promotion within the Black African Communities in the UK—a topic ignited by the events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before embarking on her PhD journey, Tara earned multiple postgraduate degrees in Media and Communication from Pan Atlantic University School of Media and Communication in Nigeria and in International Marketing Management from RGU, respectively. She proudly holds certification as a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Notably, Tara has received various prestigious awards, including the Scottish Institute of Enterprise Innovative Champion in 2020 among others.

Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, during her free time, Tara passionately serves as a mentor on a board, guiding and nurturing young African communication professionals in cultivating a robust foundation of industry-based experience in devising communication strategies across diverse industries in Africa and the UK.
