Mrs Tina McGilton

Biography Tina McGilton is a Lecturer (in Practice Based Learning) at the School of Health Sciences, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. She previously held a variety of clinical dietetic roles in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Her most recent post was in the specialist area of eating disorders. Tina has facilitated on a number of behaviour change courses throughout the UK.
Her area of interest is motivational interviewing, and currently leads a clinical skills module which introduces and develops these skills with student dietitians.
Tina has lived in Aberdeenshire for seventeen years.
She has a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition, a Master’s in Public Health (Health Behaviour) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics
Research Interests Tina has a background in behaviour change and motivational interviewing and is interested in these aspects of influence in the area of health and wellbeing, in particular.

Her current role is in Practice Based Learning and hopes to work towards developing a greater evidence base which supports alternative models to support practice based learning in the field of dietetics.
