Biography Dr Huda Salman is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and lecturer in Architectural Technology at the Scott Sutherland School. She holds qualifications in Digital transformation of processes and design thinking (PhD), Computer Aided Design (MSc) and Architecture (BSc in Architecture) Having this research background in digital design platforms and communication and their impact on processes and efficiency, she has expertise in the application of 3D data to support decision making, planning strategies, public participation and sustainability agenda. This expertise is supported by her research work, on Computer Aided Design, on analysing and managing digitalisation processes in construction and on 2D/3D data transformation (CAD/ BIM based).
Dr Salman has undertaken high profile research activities, including membership of editorial boards, contributing to national and international forums and expert practitioner groups, as well as presentation of her original work. She had the privilege to work with the European Commission as an expert reviewer.
Dr Salman PhD work has been published in Design Studies journal; a leading Interdisciplinary peer-reviewed Journal of Design Research. The article was on “The impact of computer aided architectural design programs on conceptual design in an educational context. Design Studies, 35 (4) pp.412-439.
Dr Salman has extensive teaching, and supervisory management experience, with four successful PhD completions and currently supervising four PhD student.
Dr Salman is experienced Research Degrees Coordinator with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education . She is a skilled professional in further education delivering excellence in Architectural Technology, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), BIM, Visual Thinking, Design Thinking, and Research Methodology (Design process-oriented protocol/ think aloud & Linkography).
