Biography Matthew Ibukun is a Doctoral researcher at the School of Computing, Engineering and Technology at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, in the United Kingdom. His research is on Sustained Casing Pressure. He is interested in employing machine learning and deep learning to address well integrity-related challenges. He is also interested in exploring well integrity concerning decommissioning, carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS), and hydrogen storage.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Ekiti State University, which was previously known as Ondo State University, in 1987 and a Master's degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Port Harcourt in 1994.

He has accumulated more than three decades of experience in the oil and gas sector. Matthew has held various positions at Geoservices and Schlumberger, including mud logging geologist, base & regional technician, onshore drilling support engineer, and mud logging manager in parts of Western & Southern African countries and the United Kingdom. He has also worked as an onshore drilling support engineer and methods engineer at TotalEnergies and as a well plug and abandonment engineer at Repsol, all of which are located in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he has experience operating in the North Sea.

Matthew is the founder and Director of Borlyte Limited, in addition to being one of the co-founders of Argyle IT and Education and serving as Chairman of the company.
