Biography | Caroline graduated in 2018 from Robert Gordon University with a First class BSc (Hons) in Nutrition. This involved a 12-week placement during which she worked at The World Obesity Federation (London UK). She then went on to work for The World Obesity Federation, remotely while study an MSc in Human Nutrition at The University of Aberdeen. During this, she undertook a 12-week research project at The Rowett institute working with human participants on a precision nutrition study. After graduating with an MSc in Human Nutrition, with distinction (2019), she worked for Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE). This involved exploring ways to support those living in poverty in the North East of Scotland to access healthy food. Following this, she worked at The Rowett Institute supporting researchers in the preparation of food for, and the running of their human nutrition intervention studies. She then moved to Robert Gordon University to work as a technical services officer in biological and food science. This involved supporting students and staff in the preparation of and running of practical biological and nutrition-related sessions. In 2022, she moved into the role of Lecturer, achieved Registered Nutritionist status and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. |
Research Interests | Caroline's research interests span across human and laboratory based human nutrition research, particularly in the field of glucose metabolism, obesity and precision nutrition. Experience in supporting a PhD candidate running a human nutrition study in precision nutrition, and a study investigating the impact of a high fibre drink. Worked within a human nutrition research facility to prepare research study diets for various research projects including investigation around soya lecithin on gut microbiota, a cross-over trial comparing the effectiveness on a big breakfast compared with a big dinner on weight loss, and more. |
