Dr Ruby Roberts
Biography | Dr Ruby Roberts is a Chancellor’s Fellow of Industrial Psychology for the Aberdeen Business School at RGU. She is also a Chartered Psychologist with a background in human factors, as well as a member of the British Psychological Society. With over eight years’ experience in collaborative post-doctoral research and consultancy, she has worked in a range of industries including oil & gas and healthcare. Dr Roberts’ research centres around human factors and organisational culture, with a focus on high-hazard environments. Having been awarded a Chancellor’s Fellowship in 2023, she is developing a program of research applying human factors approaches to the wind sector, and wider renewables industry. The vision is to support the growth of the renewable energy sector by informing industry training standards and practices through evidence-based research that will facilitate operator competence, supporting industry performance and safety. She was instrumental in the development of RGU’s first research culture surveys in 2021/2022. She continues to contribute to RGU’s Research Culture Working Group with interest into how to develop and maintain positive research cultures, as well as the development of empirically grounded yet practical research culture surveys. In collaboration with the Net Zero Technology Centre, Dr Roberts and Prof Flin developed an innovative survey tool deigned to assess organisational innovation adoption culture, providing organisations with a snapshot of their innovation adoption culture. |
