Biography Harsha is currently a Lecturer in Cyber Security at the School of Computing at Robert Gordon University (RGU). Before this, he was a Senior Research Engineer (R&D) of Security Data Analytics at the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) of Queen's University Belfast. Prior to CSIT, he was a postdoc in the ACiD project (www.acidproject.org.uk) at Coventry University. Visit https://sites.google.com/view/harshakalutarage to find more...
Research Interests His research combines AI & Security with a particular focus on using AI techniques for security applications (eg. IoT, Cyber-Physical Systems), and building security for AI-embedded systems (e.g. via analysing security vulnerabilities of AI algorithms).

Dr Kalutarage wants to leverage his applied computer science research background to develop and evaluate new technologies in Cyber Security, not only for academic interest but also for tackling real-world security problems to improve our everyday lives.

He has 10+ years of research experience in this area and has produced 65 publications, patents and technology transfers to industry. He has also served as an invited speaker, guest editor, technical co-chair and PC member for numerous venues in his research area.

**Currently, he is accepting PhD students (self-funded) to carry out a research project on AI-enabled pentesting and pentesting of AI-enabled systems. If you have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (UK equivalent 1st or 2nd upper) and a strong interest in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence, do not hesitate to contact him.
Teaching and Learning - Security Testing (MSc/GA-MSc)
- Wireless Networks (BSc)
- Machine Learning for Cyber Security (MSc/BSc) – newly created module, to give students the opportunity to evaluate and apply AI technologies in cyber security (eg. use of AI for security monitoring, AI enabled pentesting**, pentesting of AI-enabled systems** via analysing the vulnerabilities of AI/ML algorithms).

**Accepting PhD students (self-funded) in these areas
