Biography | M. S. Mekala (Senior Member, IEEE) is currently working as a Lecturer with the School of Computing, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, U.K. He is subject expertise in designing and developing novel object detection and tracking models based on LiDAR data using deep-learning neural networks. He has shown great initiative in Lidar and image processing-based soft computing techniques design that aren't a regular part of computer vision applications at the RLRC research centre for the Autonomous Vehicle Parts and Material Innovation project. He also has expertise in Deep Reinforcement Learning networks to automate advanced driving assistance systems to strengthen the robotic field and Intelligent Vehicular Networks. He is a Former Post-Doctoral Researcher at RLRC LAB, Yeungnam University, gyeongsan, Korea. He is a Former Research Coordinator and Member of the FEB Laboratory at KL University, India. He has published more than 20 peer-review research papers (indexed in SCI-SCIE). His research interests include the design of Autonomous Vehicles, Computational intelligent robots, Machine Vision, Quantum and Edge computing, statistical machine learning, IoT, service computing, and decision-making system design. He has received the Best Research award for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019. He received the research scientist award in 2020. |
