Dr Omaima Hassan

Biography I am a senior lecturer (A) in finance and accounting and the Research Degrees Coordinator (RDC) at Aberdeen Business School (ABS) of the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK.
I currently have 4 PhD students and am looking for recruiting more talented doctorate students in the areas of corporate reporting, corporate finance, and corporate governance.
I am also the RDC of the ABS where I take care of our research students (MRes; PhD) from pre-recruitment stage to their graduation stage.
Research Interests My research interests are in the area of corporate reporting and market-based accounting research. In particular, the determinants and economic consequences of corporate external reporting; the impact of corporate governance on the level and quality of corporate disclosure; accounting quality and financial reporting quality; measurement of corporate disclosure; the information content of accounting information; corporate credit rating, audit fees and audit quality.
Teaching and Learning I teach corporate finance to UG students and portfolio investment to PG students. I supervise students at all levels including UG, PG, and research students (MRes; PhD). Before joining the ABS, I was a lecturer in financial accounting in the School of Social Sciences at Brunel University, London, where I taught financial accounting to level one students and company valuation for PG students in Finance and Accounting in addition to supervising students at all levels.
