Biography Currently employed as a full-time lecturer within the Accounting & Finance department of a Scottish University and a panel member of the ACCA Aberdeen/North Regional Network. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, ACCA qualified and completed a Masters in Accounting.

Lecturing experience has focused on management accounting, accounting for decision-making and accounting for non-accountants at manager/executive level (e.g. postgraduate; MBA delivery). The roles of the Business School’s International student-staff liason and Student Wellbeing First Responder complement the direct teaching, together with extensive supervision of UG, PG and MBA-level theses and consultancy projects.

Prior to academia, Industry experience gained within management accounting and financial analysis roles. Early-career research interests lie within the area accounting education – specifically professional assessment, digital skills (AI, ML, RPA) and non-technical skills.

Teaching and Learning Maryam specialises in postgraduate and executive MBA teaching; undergraduate employability and digital skills.
