Biography Thanh Nguyen received his PhD degree in computer science from the School of Information & Communication Technology, Griffith University, Australia in 2017. Before that, he got the Bachelor degree and Master degree in 2006 and 2008, both from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam. In 2017, he received Endeavour Fellowship from Australia government to work at Griffith University.
Dr Nguyen is currently a Research Fellow at the School of Computing Science and Digital Media, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. His research interest is in the field of machine learning, pattern recognition, and evolutionary computation. He has published more than 30 papers in high-quality journals and conferences including Pattern Recognition, IEEE Trans. on Cybernetics, Information Sciences, and GECCO. He has won several prestigious awards such as DICTA 2017 DSTG best technical paper award and ICMLC 2014 Certificate of Merit Award.
Dr. Nguyen regularly serves as a reviewer and program committee member for several international conferences and journals on the aforementioned research topics.
