Biography Binam Ghimire is an Associate Professor of Finance (research) at Aberdeen Business School and an active member of the school’s research group, The Energy, Sustainability and Society.

Binam has extensively trained employees of different organisations and has delivered on topics such as Personal Finance, Financial Engineering, Investments, Quantitative Finance, and Portfolio Simulation at various business schools both locally and abroad including at schools in China, Hong Kong, Qatar, Nepal, and Poland. Binam is the lead consultant for a collaborative research project funded by Qatar University.
Research Interests Binam’s research interests are encouraged by the debate in the literature on sustainable corporate finance, stock market performance of responsible large energy companies, impact investment, screening and ratings, assets pricing, and discussions surrounding business models like employee ownership. Binam has published widely in reputed journals, such as The Energy Journal, The European Journal of Finance, Annals of Tourism, Finance Research Letters, Research in International Business and Finance, and Journal of Investment Strategies. Binam conducts regular peer reviews of articles for several international scientific journals, and he also serves on the international editorial advisory board of the Journal of Economics and Business Review.

Areas of Expertise: Socially Responsible Investments
Teaching and Learning Binam’s teachings are primarily finance-focused with a specialisation in investment, portfolio and assets pricing theory, and risk management which benefits from over a decade of commercial experience including professional banking, credit analysis, and consortium credit. Binam makes use of a wide range of tools, such as Excel, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and statistical software like STATA, and R-Statistics to enhance the skill set of his students and to enrich his own research.
