Miss Eleanor MacLeod

Biography	Eleanor is a research fellow at the National Subsea Centre, working on the interactions between offshore developments and the fishing industry. In 2017, Eleanor graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in Marine Biology. Over the next five years she worked as a fisheries scientist for the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) and for Marine Scotland. During this time, she undertook research on a range of different fish species around the world and was responsible for stock assessments that underpin catch advice. As part of these job roles, she participated in relevant International Council for Exploration of the Seas (ICES) working groups and workshops and provided scientific support for policymaking. Since joining the National Subsea Centre in 2023, Eleanor’s research has moved towards the interaction between offshore developments and the fishing industry. This is a key issue in fisheries science and her research has led to her participation in conferences on a national and international level.
