Biography Magdalena is a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) with over 10 years of experience in the public and private sector, where she was leading and delivering primarily non domestic projects. In her role as a Knowledge Exchange Coordinator for CIAT Scotland East, she is actively promoting learning in the industry, support for members, with the emphasis on support for women.

Magdalena is a Director at the Scottish Ecological Design Association (SEDA) and through her involvement with SEDA working groups, she is actively looking into the challenges of modern, holistic, ecological education in construction related degrees, health and wellbeing in design, retrofit delivery and promotion of locally sourced natural materials. She is also a Director at North East Scotland Retrofit Hub (NESFIT).

Currently undertaking a PhD at Robert Gordon University on salutogenic model of health and wellbeing in the retrofit context, Magdalena will be presenting her research in the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis in June. She has been selected and taking part in the SPRE Emerging Research Leaders Programme.

In her role of part time lecturer in Architectural Technology at RGU, her focus is on locally sourced, natural materials and relationships between agriculture and construction sectors as means to promote holistic approach to bioeconomy in Scotland. She is also involved in other research related to retrofit.
