Biography | Dr Asim joined the School of Engineering at Robert Gordon University in 2019 as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. From 2013 to 2019, Dr Asim worked as a Research Assistant, Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, after completing his PhD from the same institute (2010-2013). After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2007, Dr Asim completed an MSc in Automotive Engineering from the University of Huddersfield in 2008, and later joined the University of Lahore, Pakistan as a lecturer in Mechanical Technology (2008-2010). Dr Asim’s main teaching areas are Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Marine Power. Other modules taught by him include Aerodynamics, Advance Chassis Systems, Advance Energy Systems and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Dr Asim is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Fellow of Higher Education Academy. Dr Asim is an active consultant to many Thermo-fluid industries and has run a number of knowledge transfer partnerships successfully. Dr Asim is very active in renewable energy research and is involved with many renewable energy organizations. Dr Asim is also a member the UK Turbulence Consortium. Dr Asim has published more than 100 papers in various journals and conference proceedings of repute and has been invited to give lectures in various conferences. |
