Biography Kyari Yates is an Associate Professor within the School of Pharmacy, Applied Sciences & Public Health at Robert Gordon University. Prior to joining RGU in 2010, Kyari worked as an environmental Chemist at the Fisheries Research Services Marine Laboratory (now Marine Scotland Marine Laboratory) Aberdeen before joining the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute Aberdeen (now James Hutton Institute) where he worked as an Analytical Chemist. He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.
Research Interests Fate, distribution and effects of persistent organic and emerging pollutants (POPs)
Development of analytical and passive sampling methodologies for environmental monitoring
Recovery of high-added value chemicals and valorisation of by-products from the food industry
Recycling of used drilling fluids and cuttings
