The WetlandLIFE project was part of the NERC funded Valuing Nature Programme (2013-19).
I was involved in managing the recruitment and contracting of artists Kerry Morrison (Performance Art), Helmut Lemke (Sound Art) and Victoria Leslie (Creative Writing). I supported the programme of work including facilitating event at Ramsar COP13 (see separate entry).
I co-curated on behalf of WetlandLIFE the Reclaiming Wetland Values: Marsh Mud and Wonder exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society - see Exhibition Brochure https://rgu-repository.worktribe.com/output/845585/reclaiming-wetland-values-marsh-mud-and-wonder

Nick Reeves Art and Environment Award 2016

Description The Land Art Generator Glasgow project was a collaboration between ecoartscotland (established by Fremantle in 2010) and the international Land Art Generator Initiative. The Nick Reeves Art and Environment Award in 2016 was for the project and was shared by the two organisations.

Nick Reeves Art and Environment Award 2010
2010

Description Greenhouse Britain: Losing Ground, Gaining Wisdom received the first Chartered Institute of Water and Environment Management Nick Reeves Art and Environment Award. Fremantle was Producer for the project working with the artists Helen Mayer Harrison (1927-2018) and Newton Harrison (b.1932) on the project from inception. The project was funded by Defra's Climate Challenge Fund and toured to 6 venues across England, launching at the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World and concluding at City Hall, London.

Saltire Award 2007
2007

Description Place of Origin, the landscape as art project in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire won a Saltire Award in 2007. Fremantle was Director of SSW when the project was initiated in 1996, and invited the artists John Maine, Brad Goldberg and Glen Onwin to propose a project as part of the 150th Anniversary of John Fyfe (Granite) Ltd. Fremantle was involved in the project at every stage, including raising £250,000 for its realisation.
