Biography Ioannis completed his first degree in Athens, Greece, in Mechanical Engineering. He then joined Aberdeen University, department of Bio-Medical Physics & Bioengineering and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology for Medical Physics and a Doctorate for an investigation of the reliability of 3-D motion analysis measurements in normal and cerebral palsy gait.

He joined RGU in 2002, initially as senior research fellow and then as a lecturer. Ioannis currently leads and delivers various undergraduate and postgraduate modules. His duties also include developing projects to attract research grants, consultancy contracts, and studentships as well as publishing research output through journals and conferences. Ioannis is also involved in the NHS clinical service provision, commercialisation and accreditation of the RGU Human Performance Laboratory.
Research Interests 3-D motion analysis, mathematical modelling of human movement, clinical & sports biomechanics, gait analysis, low back pain, manual handling, facial paralysis, diabetic foot biomechanics, motion captured animation & computer generated virtual characters.
Teaching and Learning Leads and delivers various undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including Biomechanics, Biosensors, Biomaterials and Research Project,
