MERCY OGUNNUSI
Biography | Mercy graduated with a distinction in Construction Project Management at Robert Gordon University, Scotland, UK. She was the Class Representative MSc. class (2014/15). Prior to that, she graduated from Lagos State Polytechnic with HND in Architecture 1999. She was the first female president of the Architectural Student Association (ASA 1998). She has 20years working experience cutting across various facets of built environment including Architecture, Manufacturing and Project Management. In addition to her project delivery roles while at Comprehensive Project Management Services Limited (CPMS), she was also responsible for delivering Procurement Management focused training modules to professionals. In 2016, she became the principal partner of Hemercol Projects and Services Limited (HPSL), a Construction Projects Management company based in Lagos, Nigeria. She assumed that role until September 2019 when she returned back to Robert Gordon University for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with research interest in MCDM, Infrastructure, Sustainability and BIM. In addition to her studentship on full time, she is a Demonstrator, Student Ambassador and International Welcome Assistant with the University on a part time basis and also volunteers as senior Study Buddy with the Student Help Point. She is a Chartered Construction Manager with Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and an Affiliate member with Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (AMIEMA). Mercy’s hard work and dedication to duty won her several awards and recognition locally and internationally. To her credit, she is a winner of the 2015 Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK prize for academic achievement, Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment Scholarship, RGU UK, (2014) and Presidential Award of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC, 1998). She was a Finalist at the CIOB CMYA Rising Star Award held in November 2020. In July 2021, she was one of the reviewers at the eleventh (11th) International Structural Engineering and Construction Conference (ISEC) Conference, Cairo, Egypt. With an outstanding presentation during the SEEDS Conference 2022, she was awarded the Sponsor's Prize for IEMA. Mercy has nine (9) research outputs from articles and conferences with about three hundred and twenty five (325) citations. |

Teaching and Learning | Introduction to Teaching & Demonstrating January 2020 as a learning support practitioner. As part of teaching and learning requirement, she delivered part of a lecture in SUM 105 (Built Assets Procurements and Contractual Arrangement for Construction Project Management, MSc Class where she presented a Standard Form of Contract – FIDIC case studies from her projects as a Project Manager after completing her MSc. In 2014. She was also one of the three assessors of group presentations (Critiquing of projects requirement/procurement method) of the same MSc. CPM class. In 2020/21 session, she coordinated the delivery of module (SUM 103) Project Organisation Information and Behaviour, Full Time (FT) and Online Distance Learning (ODL) for MSc Construction Project Management class. Subsequently, she supported the delivery of ODL modules for Engineering Project Management (ENM230) and Building Information Modelling: Application (ACM016). Presently, she supports the delivery of Design Management (SUM 201). She has also successfully completed DEM 022 : Supporting Learning, Teaching and Assessment module to achieve the AFHEA status. |
