CEO’s activism and MNEs’ international expansion

Project Description

This project examines the relationship between CEO activism and firm location choices. Specifically, the project will focus on answering the following research question:

"Do firms invest in countries whose institutional conditions are consistent with the CEOs’ personal beliefs?"

Focus will be on multinational organisations who are listed on the Standard and Poor 1500 Index from 2007 to 2020. Taking a quantitative approach, the research team will gather information regarding international activity by these organisations, analysing data sources from a variety of areas including Bloomberg, social media platforms, World Bank database and Refinitiv.
