Due to the fast-paced nature of data collection, particularly with mobile apps, very little time is spent building a structured knowledge base system for data comprehension. Therefore, valuable information may be ‘trapped’ in a multitude of unstructured databases that are not exploited to serve any purpose. With this partnership, RGU proposes to develop a system to organise and analyse the increasing stream of unstructured and encrypted data collected from the LiberEat app (https://libereat.com/), to inform the healthcare sector, food retailers, producers, restaurants and other potential stakeholders, about the consumers’ dietary and allergenic patterns without compromising the consumers right to data privacy.
