Abstract

This presentation reports on three experiments into the stomach emptying of pigs during feeding. Each experiment measured the emptying of both solids and liquids from the stomach using a gastric evacuation technique. Two of the experiments also involved the use of a glucose infusion into the duodenum and observations on the effect of this on the rate of stomach emptying are also reported.
