Abstract

Approximately 60% of people wish to die at home and across Europe there are an estimated 100 million family carers meeting the needs of loved ones at the end of life. Family carers have unmet health and social care needs and also an understanding of their preferences for end of life care. This research examined available evidence about family carers' preferences for support when caring for a loved one at the end of their life in their own home and what helps family carers cope and their experiences of care provision.
