An AI powered Career Coach using Case-Based Reasoning and Digital behaviour change interventions to monitor and manage career plans and progressions

Project Description

The Nudge Talent Lab is an online platform created to connect, support, coach, and source opportunities for energy sector professionals. They have a vision of creating a talent and coaching platform which will reduce unemployment, reduce stress for individuals that are undertaking transformational change and reduce mental health issues in the industry.

To pursue their vision, the team at Nudge have entered into an exciting collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence and Reasoning (AIR) group at RGU. This partnership sees the team at RGU sharing their knowledge and expertise in novel AI techniques to assist the Nudge Talent Lab with building their ambitious new platform. An Artificial Intelligence methodology called case-based reasoning (CBR) was employed with the goal of allowing Nudge to match job opportunities with appropriate individuals in a manner which is fast, accurate, and capable of learning from the complexities of a real-world jobs market.

Building upon the Clood microservice architecture – a distributed and highly scalable generic CBR system developed at RGU – an innovative solution was implemented which empowered the Nudge platform through intelligent and easily accessible CBR tools. Collaboration with RGU Clood architecture has greatly increased the capability of the Nudge Talent Lab platform, resulting in a powerful and cost-effective solution which can support energy sector workers to be the best they can be.

With the collaboration still ongoing, future goals are to further empower the Nudge Talent Lab platform with additional AI-enabled features to coach energy professionals and guide them towards their dream career. With so many engineers looking to be involved in exciting new opportunities in hydrogen, wind, or tidal power, the Nudge Talent Lab believes it is more important than ever to support energy sector talent to help achieve the UK net zero target, and RGU is proud to have the opportunity to use their expertise to help shape a better future.
