Abstract

Hydrogen is a versatile energy career and is key to decarbonize a number of difficult sectors. Hydrogen can be used to generate electricity, used as fuel for various forms of transport, domestic heating and cooking. However, although it is an abundant element contained as atoms in water, natural gas and plants, it is not itself available as a gas in nature. Therefore, it needs to be produced from natural gas, water splitting and biomass.
