Abstract

This article discusses a research project that aims to assess the effectiveness of PAS 2035, a standard issued by the British Standards Institution to guide the retrofitting of homes in the UK in line with the government's Net Zero strategy. The research takes the form of a case study, the DORIC project being delivered by Aberdeen City Council. Data were gathered through interviews with five of the project team. The case study identifies three themes of "lessons learned" from PAS 2035 implementation: knowledge of the standard; detailing challenges; and cost aspects.
