Within the North Sea, a transition is slowly taking place. From a place of purely extractive energy production to one of a mixed energy portfolio, increasingly including renewable energy. Simultaneously, many traditional shooting estates within Scotland are also looking to diversify and future-proof their revenue. Transitioning away from a different form of extractive and ecologically-damaging industry, to one involving a mix of revenue streams, but heavily featuring on-shore renewables - namely wind. Beyond the obvious parallels that these two transitions share, they are both notably making the energy transition visible within the communities that border them. This creates its own issues for those who have lived for generations under the invisible shadow of these industries. Addressing themes of time and materialities, this short film mixes found footage in a poetic reverie. It explores the similarities and differences these two spaces and their communities have faced historically, now and into the future.
