Project Description
Cannabidiol (CBD) has cardioprotective properties against the outcome of myocardial ischaemia and reperfusion. CBD oil, which contains not only cannabidiol but a host of biologically active molecules that may also offer some benefits to cardiac health, is used clinically for management of neuropathic pain and other similar conditions. This project aims to compare the effects of pure CBD and CBD oil in cell and in vivo models of cardiac remodelling that occurs in response to pathological stimuli such as after a heart attack, in diabetes and cardiotoxic chemotherapeutic agents.
